Louise practices veterinary ophthalmology in Dublin, Ireland, where she provides ophthalmology services through 'Clear Vision Veterinary' at Nutgrove Pet Hospital. She is a visiting ophthalmologist and lecturer at University College Dublin, seeing cases and providing the veterinary student ophthalmology education. She is also an ophthalmology consultant on VIN.com. Having seen a wide spectrum of ophthalmology care from Ireland to Iowa to San Francisco, she is passionate about improving access to ophthalmology and providing practical veterinary ophthalmology education. She believes in empowering general practitioners to tackle ophthalmology issues and wants to dispel the myth that "eyes are hard". She loves developing new simulations to help teach clinical skills. Antibiotic stewardship is one of her favourite topics.
She attended veterinary school at University College Dublin, graduating in 2017. This was followed by a rotating internship at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital, then her residency in ophthalmology at Iowa State University. She became a diplomate of the ACVO in 2021 and practiced in the Bay Area from 2021-2023 before moving home to Ireland.
