Melanie Landry Church attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she graduated with honors and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. At North Carolina State University she was president of her veterinary class for all four years and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She then completed a private practice internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta. Dr. Church completed her residency in Comparative Veterinary Ophthalmology in Phoenix, Arizona in 2012 and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmolgists in 2013. Dr. Church then practiced in Warwick, Rhode Island and moved to central Florida in 2014. Dr. Church joined Animal Eye Care Associates in Virginia Beach, VA July 2020. She truly enjoys the medical and surgical aspects of veterinary ophthalmology and also volunteers her services to help multiple zoological parks, wildlife rescue groups and aquariums.
