Dr. Rachel Keller Vaughan received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in 1998 and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2002. After a one-year rotating small animal internship at Auburn University, she completed a residency in comparative veterinary ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee in June of 2006. She remained on faculty at the University of Tennessee as a clinical instructor in ophthalmology before moving back to her hometown of Pittsburgh in October of 2006, when she joined the Ophthalmology practice at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Keller obtained Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists that same year. Her research interests, including sudden acquired retinal degeneration syndrome and equine ophthalmology, have lead to several publications in scientific literature and the presentation of several continuing education seminar lectures.
Dr. Keller Vaughan has many hobbies outside of work, including hiking with her dogs, spending time with her husband and family, water skiing, and spending time outdoors.
