Dr. Collins received his DVM degree from the University of Georgia in 1982, completed a small animal internship at Cornell University in 1983, and completed a combined ophthalmology residency and master’s degree program at the University of Wisconsin in 1987. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 1988. Dr. Collins taught at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine for nine years and was an associate professor when he left in 1996. Dr. Collins then moved to the Milwaukee area to start a private ophthalmology practice and merged his practice with Eye Care for Animals in 2010. In May of 2020, Dr. Collins resigned his full-time position and now works part-time as a relief ophthalmologist.
