Dr. Lamkin graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. After working with the National Park Service, Army Corps of Engineers, and US Geological Survey, Dr. Lamkin returned to school to earn a DVM degree from University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a 1-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Cornell University. Afterward, she stayed to complete her residency in comparative ophthalmology at Cornell before becoming a board-certified ophthalmologist.

Dr. Lamkin thoroughly enjoys all aspects of veterinary ophthalmology, and her primary interests include corneal surface disease and emergency ocular surgery. In her free time, Dr. Lamkin enjoys hiking, running, cooking, and watching the Great British Bake Off with her partner, Phil, and her two cats and Beagle.
