Landry
Dr. Landry grew up mostly in Maryland, lived in Germany for four years of his childhood and spent many summer vacations on the coast of New England. He started his career volunteering with a mixed animal veterinarian in Brunswick, Maine at the age of thirteen which solidified his love of both small and large animal medicine. Throughout high school he worked as a veterinary assistant with three different veterinary practices as well as spending summers working on a dairy farm and a horse breeding farm. He received his bachelor's degree in Forestry and Wildlife with a double major in Biology from Virginia Tech. Prior to entering veterinary school, he spent several months working for a large poultry company while living in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has also been involved in research with the Center of Veterinary Medicine at the Food and Drug Administration and human schizophrenia research with the Maryland Psychiatric Research Institute. While attending the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, he developed his love for ophthalmology during graduate research in veterinary pharmacology. After graduation from veterinary school, he completed a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville. Following his internship, he pursued his specialty training in ophthalmology at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He started the Animal Vision Center in 2019 and he never plans on leaving the Seattle area. While he really enjoys all aspects of veterinary ophthalmology, his special interests include intraocular surgery, exotic animal ophthalmology, glaucoma, as well as corneal disease and surgery. In his free time away from the clinic, he enjoys spending time in nature with his wife, a veterinary cardiologist, their two toddlers, and their lovable, adopted visually impaired dog.
