Biography: Dr. Hammond earned his doctor of Veterinary medicine in 1974 at Colorado State University (CSU). After completing his residency, he was awarded a Masters Degree in Comparative Ophthalmology in 1984. Dr. Hammond became a board -certified veterinary ophthalmologist, as well as a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, in 1985. He attended the University of Texas medical school and the Herman Eye Center in Houston, TX for further comparative ophthalmology training. Dr. Hammond was an affiliate faculty member in clinical sciences at CSU from 1982-1987. He has been a presenter at national and local veterinary meetings, has published several articles and book chapters, and has appeared on several episodes of Animal Planet's Animal ER. In addition to his main practice in the Denver metro area, Dr. Hammond travels throughout Colorado and Wyoming to provide veterinary ophthalmology services. Currently, Dr. Hammond limits his practice to Equine Ophthalmology.
