Biography:
Dr Barrie received her DVM from Michigan State University in 1975 then was awarded an internship at one of the first specialty hospital in Copley, Ohio. She did her residency at University of Florida,received her board certification in ophthalmology 1979. Dr Barrie was awarded and NIH training grant 1979-1982 where she received a Masters degree at University of Florida, College of Medicine, Dept of Infectious Disease and Immunology, 1982. Her Master's thesis was on Uveal scleral outflow in the Dog. Dr Barrie spent 25 yrs in specialty practice limited to animal ophthalmology in Tampa, Fl . She returned to academia in 2003-20011 as a full professor in small and large animal clinical sciences at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, Gainesville, Fl. Dr Barrie is presently retired from the University and has developed Barrie Animal Eye Consulting in Tampa, Fl.
